While
board members are elected to two year terms, any University employee
can become a general member of the UK Women's Forum. General members
serve on committees and help inform and perform the work of the
UK Women's Forum. The work typically performed by each of the four
major committees is described below:
Conference
Committee
This committee shall be responsible for the planning and publicizing
of this annual event and shall oversee all sub-committees.
Sarah Bennett
Holmes Award Committee
This committee shall be responsible for the nomination and selection
of the Sarah Bennett Holmes Award recipient and the annual award
luncheon. The monetary award shall be presented to one full time
regular University female faculty employee and one full time regular
University female staff employee who meet the award eligibility
criteria.
Programs Committee
This committee shall be responsible for UK Women’s Forum events
beyond the Sarah Bennett Holmes award/luncheon and the UK Women’s
Forum Conference. The Program Committee may have subcommittees formed
relative to specific events sponsored by UK Women’s Forum.
This committee shall be responsible for providing quality programs
for University women and others and provide service projects that
will both fulfill a need in the community at large and emphasize
the University’s role in increasing the quality of life in
our community.
Communications
Committee
This committee shall plan, publish and distribute any print and
electronic material the Board deems to be of interest to University
employees. This committee shall oversee the UK Women’s Forum
web page.
