STAFF APPRECIATION DAY 2007

The 15th annual Staff Appreciation Day was held May 23, 2007.  Sponsored by the UK Women’s Forum, the event was held in the Student Center.  UK Dining Services provided a free lunch for attendees and many sponsors, on and off campus, contributed to the cost of the 6400 t-shirts that were given away.  Dozens of door prizes were donated by area businesses, and AAA Corporate Travel Service donated the grand prize of two airline tickets. 

The Women’s Forum thanks all of the sponsors, participants who set up tables at the event, as well as all of the many volunteers who contributed to the success of the day.  Many thanks are due also to the Staff Appreciation Day Committee members for their time, energy, and efforts:

In order for us to concentrate on other women-focused activities, 2007 was the final year that Staff Appreciation Day was sponsored by the UK Women’s Forum.  The event will continue, however, and will be organized by the UK Staff Senate beginning in 2008. 

STAFF APPRECIATION DAY 2008

The 16th anniversary of Staff Appreciation Day will be located in the Student Center on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 from 10:30 AM-1:30PM.

UK staff will be treated to their choice of lunch provided by UK Dining, candy, live music, free T-shirts, and fabulous door prizes.

Lunch will be provided by UK Dining Services. Each employee will receive a meal ticket at the door prize sign up table located at three entrances into the Student Center. The meal ticket can be redeemed for free food.

Staff Appreciation Day 2006

Vendor Tables and Table Judging – email Marilyn Szczygielski
UK Departments and some of the contracted vendors will set up booths to share information about services available to UK Staff. The displays will be judged again this year and the best display will win a prize. If your department is interested in a display table contact Marilyn Szczygielski.

Door Prizes – email Amy Atkerson, Kyle Dippery, and Debbie Burton. Door Prizes will be given away this year. If your department has an item to donate as a door prize please contact Amy Atkerson, Kyle Dippery, and Debbie Burton.

T-shirts -Stephanie Risner or Judy Duncan. T-shirts will be given away at Staff Appreciation Day 2008. UK Staff Senate and Staff Appreciation Day Committees are looking for donations from UK departments to help with the cost. Please contact Stephanie Risner or Judy Duncan.

Life Beyond UK – email Remona Edenfield
Here is a chance for UK employees to showcase their creative works. Share your hobby with other UK employees and show there is Life Beyond UK. If you are interested in displaying your talents contact Remona Edenfield.

Volunteers - email Judy Duncan
While Staff Appreciation Day is organized by the UK Women’s Forum, much of the success of the event is due to the hard work of the many volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering the day of the event please complete the volunteer form . Volunteers are needed to hand out t-shirts, monitor door prize registration, hand out candy, and offer employees directions around the Student Center. Volunteers please contact Judy Duncan.
