Did You Know?

On February 8, 1944, Harry S. McAlpin became the first African American newsman granted creditials and admitted to the regular press conference of a U.S. President (Franklin D. Roosevelt). Later in the 1950s, he became the President of the Louisville NAACP and, as a distinquished attorney, fought discrimination.
