Student Parking Permit Application Information
2009-10 Academic Year

Getting Started

All students must have a valid UK parking permit to be authorized to park on campus. As a result, you will need to determine which permit you are eligible to receive and submit your completed application to Parking and Transportation Services by the deadlines indicated below.

Parking is at a premium on campus, and most permit types have limited quantities. If you do not meet all eligibility requirements for your requested permit, or if the allotment for your requested permit has already been distributed, your first permit choice may not be available.

Eligibility Requirements

Commuter Permits ("C" permits)| view map : 1) You must live at least one mile from campus; 2) you must have at least 60 earned credit hours; 3) all citations must be paid prior to applying. The exception is the C6 permit, which is available only to students attending Bluegrass Community and Technical College and commuting to campus.

Residential Permits ("R" permits)| view map : 1) R1, R3, R9, and R10 - Once your housing has been assigned, the proper residential permit will show in the permit selection area; Please wait until you have your housing assignment letter before attempting to apply; 2) R6, R7, R8, and R16 permits - Must be purchased in the office or by mail; 3) R4, R5, R11, R12, and R14 permits - Must be purchased in person according to policies established by Greek Affairs; these permits are not available for purchase online.

Stadium Permits ("K" permits): Stadium permits are available to all students.

Evening Permits: For students attending classes only after 3:30 p.m. Read about evening permits.

Disability Permits: Students previously approved for disability permits on a permanent basis may renew their permits online. Students applying for the first time for disability parking should contact the Disability Resource Center (UK Students) or Disability Student Services (BCTC Students) for assistance in obtaining a permit.

Lottery: After the supply of permits is exhausted, you may apply through the lottery for any additional spaces that may become available. Random drawings will begin approximately two weeks after classes start. The online lottery request may be submitted for one permit only.

How to Apply

Beginning with the 2009-10 permit year, permits will be issued in real-time after logging into the Parking Account Manager. UK students must use their link blue username and password in order to apply for a permit online; BCTC students must use their KCTCS username and password. Please use the dates below to determine when your application window opens.

To complete an application, students should have on hand their correct mailing address, license plate number of their primary vehicle, link blue or KCTCS username and password, and a MasterCard or Visa.

Permit application cards for students applying through the mail may be picked up at our main office or our satellite office located on the first floor of Parking Structure #5, next to Kennedy Book Store.
