The University of Kentucky is committed to providing a supportive learning environment and fostering safe, healthy relationships among our students. As such, the institution and members of our community will not tolerate the offenses of dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. This program is intended to help you learn more about these issues, as you play an important role in keeping our campus safe.
**To ensure that all students receive vital information about policies, laws, options, and resources, ALL INCOMING STUDENTS, regardless of year or program are required to complete Part 1 of the online Haven course by August 22, 2016. About 45 days after completing part 1, you will receive an email prompting you to complete part 2. The program must be completed in a timely manner to avoid a HOLD on your student account. (A hold prevents students for registering for the upcoming semester of classes)**
What technical information do I need to know?
To take the course, you will need a computer with internet access and audio capabilities. The preferred browsers for this program are Chrome and Firefox. If you do not have access to a computer, you can use any available computer with internet access such as those at your public library. On-campus computer labs are available to you as well.

Why do I have to take Haven?
We believe this program will both provide useful information to students and help us shape a safer campus community. Federal law requires that colleges and universities make students aware of policies and resources related to sexual assault and other forms of interpersonal violence. UK has chosen Haven as a tool to ensure students receive this information.
Can my advisor remove my hold?
If you did not complete part 1 by the deadline above, a hold will be placed on your account. An automated system checks the status of student completion daily and typically removes holds within 24 hours. Advisors are not authorized to remove these holds.
Will my information be private?
Please note the courses may include questions to help personalize your experience and measure your attitudes and behaviors. All responses are confidential; the school will only receive information about the student body as a whole and will never see any individual student's answers.
Is this program only at UK?
UK has partnered with EverFi, whose mission is to help students address critical life skills such as alcohol abuse prevention, sexual assault prevention and financial literacy, in high schools and higher education institutions across the country. Each year over half a million students complete these courses. Recognized nationally for its effectiveness, Haven uses the latest prevention techniques and science-based research to educate students about the impact of sexual violence.
