If you have been directly impacted by power based personal violence, recently or in your past, we are here to provide you with support.
A VIP staff person is available to talk with you Monday – Friday 9 - 5 pm. You can stop by VIP Center in the basement of Frazee Hall, you can reach out to us by email (jill.smith@uky.edu) or call anytime at (859) 257-3564, and you don’t need to have an appointment! VIP is a space for support and connection in whatever way you find most helpful, we are here to listen, to hear your truth and help you navigate options. Support can look many ways including: Help maintaining your school work; we can work with you and your professors…we have access to different housing options…we can connect you to health resources…we can work together to deal with financial issues connected to power based personal violence…we can support you through legal options; talking with law enforcement, following up on the status of cases, even going to court with you…if you want to talk with someone on a deeper level we can connect you with a counselor… you can also plug in to the many programs at VIP; writing group, theater performance, art projects, Green Dot training, and volunteer programs. We have many resources throughout our community and together we can access those that you find most helpful. Please know we are here for you.
