The TASC media/instructional tech center in White Hall Classroom Building ("The Matrix") will undergo a change in hours beginning Monday, June 30, and continuing through Friday, August 22. Regular open hours for the duration will be 1-5pm daily.

Approaches to Improving
the First Year Student Experience

A web conference to examine elements of student support and services during their first year in college was held on Thursday November 8, 2007. The web conference did an overview and layout on current best practices in the field and suggested directions for the future. Peer Instruction, Gender Differences, Classroom Demos, and Technology with Dr. Eric Mazur

Eric Mazur, a Harvard Physics professor, is an internationally recognized scientist and researcher who also is widely known for his educational research on peer instruction, gender differences in learning physics, classroom demonstrations, and innovative uses of technology. Dr. Mazur spoke and conducted a teaching workshop at the University of Kentucky on October 24, 2007. Video from the workshop is available. More . . .
