Application Process

Application to the UK CHS Graduate Athletic Training Program

The application is a two-step process:

  1. Applicants should submit all admissions materials to ATCAS through the following link: https://atcas.liaisoncas.com/applicant-ux/#/login
  2. Applicants should also complete the UK Graduate School application through the following link: https://www.uky.edu/academics/masters/athletic-training-graduate

Admissions Processes

Applicants to the University of Kentucky Professional Athletic Training Program must have completed (or intend to complete prior to admissions) the pre-requisite courses and meet the Program’s competitive admissions requirements in order to be considered for admission into the academic program.

The Program Admissions Committee will review all applications that meet the minimum criteria described on the Program Admissions page on an on-going and rolling basis. Final admissions status will be determined after the interview process is complete. Applicants not selected will be encouraged to apply in subsequent years.

Selection Criteria for Admissions

Applicants will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Special considerations will be made on a case by case basis. After the application materials have been reviewed, recommended applicants will be invited for a zoom interview session.


2023-2024 Interview Dates*

Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply for admissions as early as possible in order to ensure an opportunity to apply to the University of Kentucky Graduate School scholarships and fellowships. Fall 2023 interview dates:

October 13, 2023 (Early Admissions)

  • Completed ATCAS applications: September 22, 2023

December 8, 2023

  • Completed ATCAS applications: November 24, 2023

Spring 2024 interview dates:

February 14, 2024

  • Completed ATCAS applications: February 2, 2024

Week of April 1, 2024

  • Completed ATCAS applications: March 22, 2024

The deadline for International applicants to submit their materials to ATCAS is January 15th, 2024 to be considered for a Summer 2024 admissions. For more information specific to English proficiency requirements, please visit the International Center Admissions Requirements page here:  https://international.uky.edu/apply/admissions. 

Students will be expected to accept or decline their spot in the Program and pay a non-refundable $150 seat fee no more than 10 business days after notification of acceptance into the Program. The seat fee will be applied to the first semester student fees.

Transfer of Credit Policy

The Professional Master of Science in Athletic Training Program will not accept transfer of credits.
