This General Surgery track is an outstanding opportunity for PA residents to gain operating room (OR) experience. The PA Surgery Resident will have clinical rotations in several areas, including:  General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, GYN, Plastics, and Elective(s). The majority of the resident’s time is spent in the operating room (OR). There is also ample opportunity for outpatient as well as pre and post op care experience. By the end of the year, the resident should be prepared to assist in a variety of surgical specialties.

Testimonials:

Although we get a great education during the PA program, our clinical rotations are only 4 weeks long and it is difficult to be prepared to practice in such a specialty in that short of a time period. The residency programs allow you to be fully immersed in that setting, learning and gaining hands on experience from the experts for a full year.

– Kristin Bossle, General Surgery, 2020-2021
