Caterpillar hosts plants: 
eaves of legumes (Leguminosae family) including alfalfa, Medicago; white clover, Trifolium; pea, Pisum

Adult food:  
nectar of many plant flowers

Habitat: 
alfalfa and clover fields, fields in general, lawns, meadows, road edges 

Notes:  
females lay eggs singly, hibernates as third-stage caterpillars, puddles
