Tara A. Rose, Director of University Assessment
Tara Rose is the Director of University Assessment for the University of Kentucky (UK), Office of Institutional Effectiveness, located in Lexington, KY. Prior to working with the Office of Assessment, she served as the Assessment Director of the Gatton College of Business & Economics at UK and as a Research Analyst with the Kentucky Legislative Research Commission. Tara received her Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Eastern Kentucky University and Master of Public Administration from Walden University. She is currently working towards her doctorate in Public Policy and Administration focusing on Policy in Higher Education.
Her interests include research, program evaluation, policy analysis, and assessment of student learning in higher education institutions. Rose has been teaching online as a facilitator for six years and adjunct faculty member for four years. She has been a Board Member with the Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education (AALHE) since 2010 and currently holds the position of President-Elect. Brandon Combs, Assistant Director of University Assessment
Brandon Combs is the Assistant Director of University Assessment for the University of Kentucky’s Office of Institutional Effectiveness. Prior to working with the Office of Assessment he served as a Law Enforcement Training Instructor for the Commonwealth of Kentucky's Department of Criminal Justice Training, the state's police academy. In this role he worked on the Curriculum Development Taskforce, who worked towards rewriting the academy's curriculum. Prior to that, he served as the Communications Supervisor for the UK Police Department for more than six years. Brandon received his Master of Science degree in Safety, Security, and Emergency Management from Eastern Kentucky University. He also has a Master of Arts degree in Education Technology from Morehead State University. He is currently working towards his doctorate in Educational Technology Leadership with emphasis in Instructional Design.
Brandon's research interests include backchanneling, classroom and instructional design, law enforcement training, distance learning/education, policy analysis, and criminal justice education requirements. He has been actively involved in various professional and advocacy organizations, including: the Association for Educational Communications and Technology, the Kentucky Equality Federation, and the Southern Brigade of Kentucky Colonels.
