Other University-Wide Assessment Efforts

Other institutional assessment efforts at the University of Kentucky include, but are not limited to:

Graduation Composition & Communication Requirement (GCCR)

The GCCR is the new graduation required composition and communication requirement, which replaced the former Graduation Writing Requirement (GWR).  Beginning fall 2014 all incoming Bachelors-level students will be required to fulfill the GCCR in order to graduate.  The GCCR will be completed via coursework in the student’s major program.

Here are the FAQ for the GCCR.

Assessment will be conducted to determine growth between UK Core and end of program in SLO 2: Composition and Communication.

Presentation U!

Presentation U! is UK’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) which targets improvement in demonstrated learning in all multimodal communication. The QEP fulfills one of 12 core requirements for reaffirmation of accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)

NSSE collects information about student participation in programs and activities that institutions provide for their learning and personal development.

Here you can view a presentation by Dr. Jillian Kinzie on the NSSE.

Here you can view UK's previouse results from the NSSE.

Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE)

The FSSE is designed to complement the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), which is administered to undergraduate students. FSSE measures faculty expectations for student engagement in educational practices that are empirically linked with student learning and development.  UK is participating in the FSSE in the Spring of 2015.  Results will be posted when they become available.
