Manipal University (MU) enrolls approximately 26,000 students. In addition to the main campus, it has branches elsewhere in India, and in Dubai, Malaysia, and Antigua. Individual colleges have received top rankings among Indian universities by The Times of India and other Indian publications, including The Outlook, The Week, India Today, and the Global Human Resource Development Centre.
It awards bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees and includes colleges and/or institutes offering programs of study in arts & sciences, allied health, architecture, communication, engineering, hospitality, information sciences, management, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and strategic and area studies.
UK has been building a relationship with MU since 2008, when Manipal Hospital and UK’s College of Medicine began conducting monthly case conferences. UK faculty have visited MU three times and, during a 2010 visit to UK by MU’s Vice Chancellor, UK and MU signed a Memorandum of Understanding. In 2011, UK joined IIE’s India International Academic Partnership Program and our mentor was Duleep Deosthale, VP for International Education for Manipal Global Education. In 2012, UK and MU signed an agreement to establish a clinical/medical student rotation.
