Miko McFarland, a Missouri native, received her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Master of International Affairs and Administration from Missouri State University.
Prior to joining the UK Education Abroad team, Miko served as the Study Away Programs Advisor at Missouri State University for over four years, where she advised approximately 400+ students each year through all phases of the education abroad process. Miko is an active member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators who volunteers at conferences regularly, has co-presented and chaired numerous sessions, and is a NAFSA Leadership Academy alum.
In 2011, Miko was awarded the NAFSA Region IV Outstanding New Professional in International Education and in 2012, she received the Missouri State University Division of Student Affairs (DOSA) Award for Outstanding Collaboration as a Team for her cross-departmental efforts on the Transfer Credit Pre-Approval Task Force. Miko currently serves on the ISEP Council of Advisors, a member-elected board of institutional representatives.
When Miko is not working on UK Education Abroad initiatives, she enjoys volunteering at the Kentucky Horse Park and will enthusiastically engage any fellow equestrian in “horse talk”.
