Education Abroad Parent Info Session

On Saturday, October 11 at 9:30 a.m. UK Education Abroad will hold a general information session for parents in the Hub of William T. Young Library.

Miko McFarland, Assistant Director of Education Abroad, and Seth Riker, Education Abroad Promotion & Outreach Coordinator, will lead a presentation covering the variety of education abroad experience types, program options, funding opportunities, and more.  After the presentation there will be time for Q & A.

First Generation Family Weekend Luncheon

UK Education Abroad, the Office of First Generation Initiatives, and UK Partner International Studies Abroad (ISA) are hosting a First Generation Family Weekend Lunch on Saturday, October 5 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the courtyard outside Bradley Hall (rain location: Student Center Ballroom).

Winter Program Offerings

UK Education Abroad is offering several new study abroad programs this winter and many are open to students from all disciplines--including a new UK College of Design Thailand program.  

For many students, including those with a highly structured academic plan, the winter term is an ideal time to participate in a program abroad.  

Education Abroad Scholarship Workshop

On Tuesday, September 17 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Education Abroad will host a Scholarship Workshop in The Hub of William T Young Library.

This workshop is an opportunity for students to learn about the variety of education abroad scholarships and receive one-on-one advising from Education Abroad staff.

To help students brainstorm or review personal statements for scholarship applications, members of the UK Writing Center will also be available.

Free pizza and t-shirts will be available.

Education Abroad Fair

Education Abroad (EA) will hold its annual Fall Fair on Wednesday, September 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.

Re-Entry Sessions

As a part of the ISP 599 course requirement, Re-Entry Sessions are an opportunity for students to assess predeparture goals, reflect on their program with peers, learn how to articulate their experience to potential employers, and find out how to stay engaged internationally. 

Before attending a session, students should have read the ISP 599 Re-Entry Information and Resources and taken the ISP 599 Re-Entry quiz within their myEA portal.
