April 11 - 15 – Ride and Seek, Sustainability-Style

Keep your eyes peeled while cycling, and you can win prizes! Students can snap photos of themselves or their bike at sustainability features around campus. Winning entrants will receive a prize pack including a Pick It Up t-shirt, water bottle and bicycle seat cover, while supplies last. Tuesday, April 12, 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. – Periscope with a Bike Mechanic

With the help of students from the Information Communication Technology program, you will have the opportunity to ask a Wildcat Wheels Bicycle Library mechanic questions about spring tune ups, basic bike repairs and more! Submit questions on Periscope or through the @ukyICT, @UKParking or @wildcatwheels Twitter accounts.

Wednesday, April 13, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. – Bike to Campus Day & On-the-Spot Safety Checks

Mining & Minerals Plaza

Celebrate the 4th Annual Bike to Campus Day by pedaling over for a bicycle-powered smoothie and some bike-related giveaways. While you’re there, get an on-the-spot safety check of your ride courtesy of the Wildcat Wheels Bicycle Library and their mobile shop and learn about campus and local bike resources at your disposal.

Thursday, April 14, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Get Your DIY On! Fix-It Station Demonstrations

DIY Stations on Patterson Drive and at the Johnson Center and W.T. Young Library

While you may know that the University of Kentucky has seven do-it-yourself bicycle repair stations on campus, do you know how to use them? Wildcat Wheels Bicycle Library staff will join members of the UK Bicycle Advisory Committee in breaking down how to use these resources should you ever be in need of a quick fix!

Thursday, April 14, 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. - Tour de Downtown Art

Downtown Lexington; departs from Alumni Plaza (Wildcat Statue)

Get a unique perspective on some of downtown Lexington's murals on this group Bike Week ride, which is back for an encore performance. Please note, this tour will cover different works of art than the 2015 tour. The ride will be led by instructors certified by the League of American Bicyclists and the tour will be guided by Georgia Henkel, an accomplished artist very familiar with the works on the tour. The tour is expected to cover 3-5 miles at a leisurely pace. Please sign up to attend this free tour via the Facebook event page.

Friday, April 15, 7 p.m. - Bike-In Movie: The Late Night Film Series Presents Freeheld

Students, faculty, staff, and guests can enjoy free films on Thursdays and Fridays nights courtesy of the Late Night Film Series. You don't have to ride your bike to the Late Night Film Series, but since it is Bike Week, we will have special prizes for those students who do. Students who arrive by bike will receive a free set of LED bike lights, while supplies last. Just check in at the table outside Memorial Hall en route to your movie night.

Saturday, April 16, 9 a.m. – Donut Tour on Two Wheels

Downtown Lexington; departs from Wildcat Wheels Bicycle Library (Blazer Hall)

Start your day off by sampling the finest donuts found in Lexington. This leisurely ride guided by Wildcat Wheels staff will cover approximately 5 miles, with stops at four donut destinations to refuel. Riders must purchase their own donuts.
