Spring 2011 Student Permits: Last Day for Online Sales

Today marks the final day of online sales for K and evening permits for the 2011 spring semester. UK and BCTC students must apply online through the Parking Account Manager. UK students must use their link blue login and password in order to apply for a permit online. BCTC students must use their KCTCS username and password.

Beginning Wednesday, January 12, students may come to Parking and Transportation Services, located in Parking Structure #6 (721 Press Avenue), to purchase permits over the counter.

The K lots at Commonwealth Stadium will be controlled for permits beginning Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011. This will allow new students time to purchase permits once they arrive on campus for the spring semester.

Eligible students who do not have a parking permit or who want to upgrade a K permit may submit a lottery request online for C and R permits through the Parking Account Manager. Eligibility criteria must be met to purchase the desired permit. Drawings are typically held two to three weeks after the beginning of the semester and notification is sent via e-mail.

Rupp Arena Basketball Shuttle Resumes Tonight

The SEC basketball schedule begins and the Rupp Arena Basketball Shuttle will resume for tonight’s match-up against Auburn. The shuttle service provided by PTS and UK Athletics offers an affordable alternative to event parking, and will operate for all remaining regular season home games.

Shuttles will begin 70 minutes before tip-off, with campus pick-ups at the Euclid Avenue side of the Student Center, Greg Page Laundry and the intersection of University and Huguelet Drives. Return trip shuttles will meet patrons at the Vine Street exit from Rupp Arena following the game.

Employees and students who wish to ride the basketball shuttle and have a valid parking permit may park behind the Greg Page Laundry after 3:30 p.m. The round-trip cost for all patrons is $3 per person, per game. Exact change is preferred.
