Paving to Close Portion of Hospital Drive, April 29-30
The following message is being sent on behalf of UK HealthCare:
As part of final preparations for the opening of the new UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital Pavilion A, paving of the circular drive in front of Pavilion A will take place starting at 10 p.m., Friday, April 29, and ending by 8 a.m. Saturday, April 30. The work will make it necessary to close the section of Hospital Drive between South Limestone and the entrance to Pavilion H (the original Chandler Hospital building).
During this time, hospital patients and visitors are strongly encouraged to park in the Chandler Hospital Parking Garage (Parking Structure No. 8) located at 110 Transcript Avenue, directly across Limestone from the medical campus, and ride the free shuttle to the hospital entrance.
Please note that safe sidewalk passage for pedestrians between UK Chandler Hospital, the Wethington Building and South Limestone will be maintained at all times. Access to the Chandler Hospital Emergency Department will not be affected.
Upon completion of the work, Hospital Drive will be reopened to traffic. In case of rain, the work will be done at the same times May 7-8.
As the opening of the new pavilion on May 19 nears, other traffic changes will become necessary. Patients, visitors and staff should use caution in the area and pay close attention to onsite signage.
Members of the campus community are encouraged to tune into 1700 AM (WQKH 253) to hear campus parking and transportation information. The station broadcasts 24 hours, 7 days a week.
