Disabled Spaces on Veterans Drive Temporarily Blocked

Five disabled spaces along Veterans Drive will be temporarily blocked this evening through Wednesday, Nov. 28, to accommodate the removal of transformers in the area.

Members of the University community who normally park their vehicles in the area may need to utilize other parking. Go to www.uky.edu/pts/parking-info_parking-maps to view a map of campus disabled parking spaces.

PTS Offers Special Holiday Parking Passes

University of Kentucky Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) is offering peace of mind to those UK students concerned about leaving their vehicles out in the elements during the semester break. PTS is providing students with the chance to store their vehicles in Parking Structure #5, located on South Limestone next to Kennedy Book Store, for the duration of the break.

To obtain a holiday parking pass, students should visit the main PTS office, located in Parking Structure #6, at the corner of Press and Virginia Avenues, or the Parking Structure #5 office, located on the first floor and facing Limestone. Passes are available only to students with a valid UK parking permit; the passes will be issued at no cost, and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis beginning on Friday, Nov. 30, with a maximum of 200 passes issued.

Vehicles may be parked on the fourth or fifth floor of Parking Structure #5 beginning Monday, Dec. 10. Students should access the garage by pulling a visitor ticket from the ticket dispenser. The holiday parking pass must be clearly displayed on the dashboard.

Upon returning to campus, students should bring their holiday parking pass to the Parking Structure #5 office, to be exchanged for an exit voucher.

Vehicles not removed by Tuesday, Jan. 8, will be charged the hourly parking rate starting at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8, through the exit time and date.

Members of the campus community are encouraged to tune into 1700 AM (WQKH 253) to hear campus parking and transportation information. The station broadcasts 24 hours, 7 days a week.
