Course Syllabus Disputes

The course syllabus is the first indicator of your instructor's expectations of the course and should offer you a detailed description of both course content and assignments. It functions as an academic "contract" between you and your instructor.

Dead Week Support & Concerns

The last week of a regular semester and the last three days of a summer session is called “dead week.” Below is a summary of the dead week policy. For the complete Senate Rule pertaining to Dead Week, see S.R. 5.2.4.6 (pdf). Note that Dead Week Rules apply only to undergraduate students.

Degree Audit (Plan your courses)

The APEX degree audit software will offer an opportunity to evaluate a student’s current progress within their respective degree program and minor. Also provided to students are the means to explore their options from among a list of degree programs, majors, and minors. The students’ exploration can extend to the planned course feature allowing each student to be prepared for both their scheduled advising session and registration period.

Discrimination / Sexual Assault / Harassment Reports

There may be instances where students perceive that they are being discriminated against or sexually harassed. If you want to discuss either of these issues, you should contact either Patty Bender or Terry Allen in the Office of Institutional Equity and Equal Opportunity.  The UK Counseling Center and the VIP Center offer counseling and support for affected students.

Excused Absence Disputes

Throughout any given semester, illness and emergencies sometimes preclude students from attending class. However, there are specific rules that dictate whether these absences are excused.
