Acquire a basic background in the design and analysis of quantitative data with the Graduate Certificate in Applied Statistics (GCAS). This program is intended for students studying outside the Department of Statistics. Successful students will be able to perform statistical data analysis needed for their research and identify the appropriate statistical analysis in any particular situation.

Enhance career opportunities as a practicing statistician 

The Graduate Certificate in Applied Statistics allows students to document a quantitative expertise for prospective employers, and become better prepared to address the quantitative research in their dissertations. 

Required Courses for the Graduate Certificate:

  • STA 570: Basic Statistical Analysis (3 credits)
  • STA 674: Regression Analysis and Design of Experiments (3 credits)
  • STA 677: Applied Multivariate Methods (3 credits)
  • STA 678: Statistical Computational Theory and Data Visualization: R and SAS (3 credits)

The Graduate Certificate committee will work with transfer students to obtain a suitable program of study.
