The University of Kentucky wants to reduce education barriers by offering online graduate and undergraduate programs to our men and women in the United States Armed Services. We have more than 60 online graduate degrees and certificates in the areas of business, engineering, education, nursing, social work, and library and information science, to name a few. GRADUATE (Veteran)  

• The Graduate School waives the application fee for Veterans.   

• All veterans and their dependents who use GI Bill benefits are classified as a resident student for tuition purposes, regardless of their program or mode of delivery. For more information regarding tuition rates see Tuition and Fees on the Registrar’s web page.   

• Veterans and dependents using the GI Bill qualify for the earliest priority registration window.   

• The veteran, or dependent, must provide the University with a copy of their Certificate of Eligibility from the VA to initiate the in-state residency change.   

• Any veteran or dependent using GI Bill benefits is classified as a resident student for tuition purposes, regardless of their program or mode of delivery.

GRADUATE (Active Duty)  

• All Active Duty who use GI Bill benefits are classified as a resident student for tuition purposes, regardless of their program or mode of delivery.   

• Active Duty using the GI Bill qualify for the earliest priority registration window.   

• You must provide the University with a copy of your Certificate of Eligibility from the VA to initiate the in-state residency change.   

• Undergraduate students enrolled in fully online courses (i.e., Internet, web-based delivery mode) are assessed the Undergraduate Online Learning Tuition Rate of $607/credit. This rate is the same for resident and non-resident undergraduate students.    

• The Registrars page  notes that Active U.S. Armed Forces military personnel who qualify for the Armed Forces Tuition Assistance (TA) program through Title X are eligible for the Active Military Tuition Rate ($261/credit hour) for undergraduate courses. There is no full-time tuition cap for the Active Military Tuition Rate, and the rate is the same for both resident and non-resident undergraduate students.
