Creating Learning Communities and Fostering Belonging-Graduate Workshop
502 King Science and Engineering Library
Wednesday, January 23, 2019 - 4:00pm
Event concludes at 5:15.
Research shows that student perceptions of classroom climate can impact their learning and engagement (Ambrose, et. al., 2010). A climate where students feel a sense of exclusion can be harmful to their success in the course. In this workshop, participants will learn practical methods for creating a positive and inclusive climate and discuss approaches they can take in their own courses.
This workshop is part of the Grad+ Pedagogy Track for graduate students. The theme for the 2018-19 academic year is inclusive teaching.
