The Center for Interprofessional Health Education
Welcome to the University of Kentucky Center for Interprofessional Health Education. With partners including the Colleges of Dentistry, Health Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, Social Work and Communication and Information, our center is devoted to facilitating the design, implementation and evaluation of interprofessional education experiences for students and providing professional development in the arena of interprofessional education for faculty. We do this to ensure team-ready graduates who are well prepared to enter a rapidly changing health care delivery system in which emerging models of collaborative heath care are the rule.
James C. Norton, Former Center Director
For much of my academic career I've been in leadership positions that served the needs of all the health professions, the AHEC Program being a good example. As such, it was my good fortune to be asked by the Provost to head this Center some years ago and now, as a post retirement appointee, I continue to find this work truly rewarding. I believe we are embarked on important and innovative work in promoting IPE at the University of Kentucky, and have come a long way since this Center was founded. It is a privilege to play a role in moving that agenda forward. If you have an interest in IPE, I am very happy to talk to you about it and you can contact me here. Thank you for visiting.
