UK has established several new campus canopies — covered outdoor spaces that support community while promoting physical distancing and being outdoors. The canopies create opportunities and spaces to socialize, dine, study and participate in approved outdoor events.
Each of these outdoor community gathering spaces are equipped with cleaning stations for sanitizing tables and chairs before use and personal hand sanitization. The certificate of occupancy for each canopy is clearly displayed along with other important "Healthy Campus" messages about how to "protect, respect and do your part".
UK Housing is committed to providing a transformative residential education. In everything we do, we prioritize health and safety within UK’s residence halls in alignment with CDC guidelines.
Specific plans for individual rooms, halls and areas have been developed based on area limitations and options. Occupancy in rooms is guided by overall room capacity.
