The following message from President Capilouto was sent to all campus residents on Monday, May 3, 2021.

Campus Residents,

For more than a year, you have endured a global pandemic and, with that, tremendous challenges. We recognize this year has been unlike any other and that your college experience may not have been what you were anticipating.

At the same time, we want to acknowledge your resilience in overcoming these obstacles and making the best of the situation. Practicing healthy behaviors has helped protect this community, your loved ones and yourself from COVID-19, but we know that was not always easy. We thank you.

It’s with great pride that I share that, because of declining rates of COVID-19 in our community and increasing rates of student COVID-19 vaccinations on campus, we have announced that residence halls will operate at normal capacity during the fall 2021 semester.

As we continue to take more steps toward getting back to “normal,” we hope your plans include living on campus when you return in August.

Thank you for the significant sacrifices you have made to keep our community safe.

Eli Capilouto
President
