Dr. Terry Bunn is the Director of the Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center and an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health. While Dr. Bunn will not be receiving funding from the CARERC during the next submission due to her time allocation on several other grants, she will continue to support the CARERC trainees and advise, especially as it may related to using the data sources and resources of the Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center (See her letter of support). The several programs of the Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center (https://kiprc.uky.edu/ ), including the Kentucky Occupational Safety and Health Surveillance Program, are noteworthy. Her current research focuses on the prevention of occupational injuries and illnesses through surveillance and the development of interventions, in partnership with the Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH). Dr. Bunn has received funding from NIOSH, NCIPC, and NIEHS. Dr. Bunn’s research center is integrally associated with the state’s Cabinet for Health Services and thus provides many opportunities for placement of students for internships and practicums with the state’s health department.
