Our Programs

First-Generation Living Learning Community

The First-Generation Scholar Living Learning Community is a residential experience designed to support first-generation students and assist them with their transition from high school to college life at UK. Academic success is encouraged through connected courses with their peers, increased faculty and staff interaction, as well as intentional programming efforts.

Pollard Scholars

Mr. Pollard established the endowed Carl F. Pollard Scholarship Fund in 1994. The endowment provides scholarship support to first-generation college students with first preference given to children of full-time horse farm workers currently employed by a thoroughbred horse farm in Kentucky. The recipients must also have demonstrated high academic achievement and extracurricular and community involvement, and have demonstrated financial need.

Robinson Scholars

Robinson Scholars are students from Appalachian Coal Counties who enroll at the university and receive scholarships, as well as additional services to help them achieve their academic goals.
