The Graduate Student Congress is an organizational active member of the National Association of Graduate-Professional Students (NAGPS) a student-run national, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of graduate & professional students across the United States. NAGPS is structured in five different regions (each one with an executive board) and a National Board of Directors. Every year the organization holds one National Conference and Regional Conferences in each of the five regions (Southeast, Northeast, Southcentral, Midwest, and Western).
As a way to promote interdisciplinary collaboration within the University of Kentucky and create solid connections with other universities across the country, the GSC will host the NAGPS National Conference in the Fall of 2019. The creation of an ad hoc committee was one of the first steps towards the organization of this event. This committee's main purpose is to coordinate with the National Board for NAGPS and create an event that is a source of professional development, advocacy, and well-being for all graduate and professional students.
