Philip Westgate is an associate professor in the Department of Biostatistics in the University of Kentucky College of Public Health. He has expertise in longitudinal studies and cluster trials. He has a leadership role in the Center for Health Equity Transformation overseeing the Biostatistics and Research Design Core and is a member of the University’s Center for Clinical and Translational Science Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design Core.
Westgate will lead the biostatistics team for the Data, Informatics and Biostatistics (DIB) Core. The DIB Core offers innovative data and analytic strategies by housing specialized data expertise in population-level and community-based studies across three teams. Westgate and his team play key roles with respect to study design and statistical modeling. The DIB Biostatistics team will serve as the hub for advice and assistance with study design and data analyses to ensure that final outcomes comply with analytic plans developed for the study design and the successful completion of the grant’s goals.
