What is the Virtual Dementia Tour

In the United States, there are about 5 million people aged 65 and up who suffer from Alzheimer's, the most common form of dementia. Most likely, you or someone you know is caring for someone with this degenerative disease.

The Virtual Dementia Tour is a unique simulation that allows participants to experience life through the eyes of their friends and loved ones who have dementia or Alzheimer's. It was designed to reflect physical conditions like hearing lost, central peripheral vision, sensory nerve damange and fine motor skills decline, as well as the onset of arthritis and neuropathy.

Participants are encouraged to take the tour in honor of a loved one who has been affected by Alzheimer's or another dementia. To quote one recent participant, "It was an eye opening and a MIND opening experience." Taking part in this event will transform your sympathy to empathy. Who will you take the tour for?
