eLearning Website & Funding Opportunities

The Office of eLearning, part of University of Kentucky Analytics and Technologies, has launched a webpage to consolidate access to a variety of resources to support faculty who integrate technology in teaching and learning. Located at www.uky.edu/elearning, it includes information about course development awards and other funding, opportunities to use new technologies, and sessions for faculty technology training, among other information.

The Office of eLearning staff comprises instructional designers, media specialists and technology specialists who support UK’s educational technology in face-to-face, hybrid, and online programs and courses. In addition, the Office of eLearning offers distance learning course awards to faculty to both create new distance learning courses and revise existing learning courses. Visitors to the eLearning site will find this link to information about funding opportunities: http://www.uky.edu/ukat/about/funding-opportunities.

The Funding Opportunities Website provides overall funding details, grant awardee information and a “Collaborate with Us” page for assistance with completing grant applications. Currently there are three (3) new Request for Proposals (RFP) open for application through the UKAT Funding Opportunities Program: Distance Learning, ECHO360 and Massive Open Online Course. The Distance Learning opportunity is an ongoing (no deadline) effort to develop a Distance Learning course; or develop and/or revise a series of courses in a new or existing Distance Learning program. The ECHO360 Development Award provides funding for the development and delivery of “flipped” or modified courses that move lecture to anywhere, anytime delivery and concentrates class time on discussion, student centered projects and other active learning or engagement, and applications are due by November 3, 2014. Lastly, UK faculty are invited to apply for funding to support design of courses to be delivered via Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) by the September 30, 2014 deadline.
