Ellen Gish, Associate General Counsel and Senior Associate Director for Gift and Estate Planning for UK Philanthropy, works with donors making planned gifts to the University through bequests, retirement accounts, securities, life insurance, charitable trusts, gift annuities and real estate.
She also serves as a liaison to the University’s Office of Legal Counsel and advises UK Philanthropy on matters related to gift and estate planning and other areas of philanthropy. She oversees the university’s gift agreement, non-cash gift and charitable insurance programs.
Before joining the University in 2016, Ellen practiced law at Latham and Watkins in Chicago, Illinois and Gordon Derr LLP in Seattle, Washington, focusing on commercial real estate transactions. After moving to Lexington, Ellen handled development for the Lexington Philharmonic.
A native of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Ellen received her undergraduate degree in American Studies from Cornell University in 1998 and law degree from the University of Michigan in 2003. She is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association.
