Lynn Kelso came to the University of Kentucky to begin the first Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program in the state. Since its inception the program has steadily grown and graduates are practicing throughout Kentucky. She also maintains a strong clinical practice with the Department of Medicine in the division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. She practices at both the UK Chandler Medical Center and the UK Good Samaritan Hospital. She teaches in both the ACNP specialty courses and the undergraduate Pathophysiology/Pharmacology I course. Ms. Kelso is a nationally recognized speaker on recognition and treatment of sepsis, multidrug resistant organisms and acute liver failure. She has published on these and other topics. She is also active in several professional organizations and currently holds the designated council seat for Nursing with the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
