About AlcoholEdu & Sexual Assault Prevention
Prevention, Outreach, and Wellness Education Resources is responsible for the administration of AlcoholEdu, Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates, and Sexual Assault Prevention for Graduates.

AlcoholEDU is a two-part, web-based substance abuse prevention program that is required for all incoming students who meet the following criteria:
- First-time freshmen, first-time transfer, first-time graduate or first-time professional student; and
- Younger than 21 years of age; and
AlcoholEdu is a confidential, online substance education course. The course uses science-based research to educate students about alcohol and its effects. Whether the student drinks or not, the course will help them make informed decisions about alcohol and better deal with drinking behavior that may occur around them. AlcoholEdu is used by more than 500 college and university campuses nationwide.
The course consists of two parts, both of which must be completed to satisfy this requirement. Campus and AlcoholEdu staff will never see individual student surveys or responses. Students will be emailed about the program once activated and are provided information during their summer advising conferences.

Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates (SAPU) is a two-part course focused on fostering healthy relationships and preparing students to recognize and respond to sexual assault and harassment when it occurs. This course is required for all incoming students who meet the following criteria:
- First-time freshmen or first-time transfer student
The course consists of two parts, both of which must be completed to satisfy this requirement. Campus and Sexual Assault Prevention staff will never see individual student surveys or responses. Students will be emailed about the program once activated and are provided information during their summer advising conferences.

The above programs and holds have been approved by the Provost, VP for Student Success, and in partnership with the Registrar. If you have a student who is having an immediate registration issue or concerns about the survey, please email wellbeing@uky.edu.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS:
If you are a transfer student and have completed AlcoholEdu at a previous college or university, you do not have to complete AlcoholEdu for UK if you are able to provide a certificate of completion. In order to receive an official exemption, you can do one of the following options:
- Forward your certificate of completion to wellbeing@uky.edu
- Contact your previous institution's AlcoholEdu administrator and ask that person to send email verification to the email above.
