Commute Club

The UK Commute Club is designed to facilitate mobility alternatives at UK by providing amenities that make it more convenient to travel to, from and around campus without a car. This program is financially supported by Transportation Services in an effort to reduce campus parking demand and traffic congestion.

Commute Club is a free program which provides benefits to members who have committed to walk, pedal, or ride to campus, regardless of whether they’ve been in the habit for years or are interested in switching transportation modes for the first time.

Participation in Commute Club requires a car-free commitment that will restrict the member from purchasing a regular vehicle parking permit for one year. With the exception of residential students, participants may still purchase a limited number of single-day permits for occasions when they must drive to campus.

Eligibility

Commute Club is available to all students and employees who choose to opt out of purchasing a parking permit. Unlike the bicycle voucher and cash out programs, the Commute Club is not limited to those who had a parking permit in the past fiscal year – or ever.

Students must be enrolled full-time at the University of Kentucky, and must have a graduation date not less than May of the year following program enrollment.

University of Kentucky faculty and staff must be full-time and have a main campus, day-shift work assignment. Employees with a temporary work assignment must have an end date of June 30, of the year following program enrollment.

Participants in the cash out and bike voucher incentive-based mode shift programs are eligible to enroll in Commute Club during their commitment period.
