Free Parking and Shuttle Service for UK Appreciation Day

UK Transportation Services is providing free parking and shuttle service on Thursday, May 25 for UK Appreciation Day attendees. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Seaton Center and the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center.

The following lots will be available for free Appreciation Day parking: the Sports Center Garage (PS #7), the Sports Center North Lot, Sports Center South Lot, the Small Sports Center Lot (adjacent to the tennis courts), the Kroger Field Green Lot and the Kroger Field North Red Lot. These areas will not be controlled for permits on Thursday, May 25.

Two campus buses will operate every 15 minutes on a fixed route with five stops at various locations around campus from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Stops will include:

  • Scovell Hall
  • Administration Drive
  • UK HealthCare Good Samaritan Hospital
  • Columbia Avenue at Rose Street
  • Complex Drive at Johnson Center Loop

Two campus buses will operate for attendees from UK HealthCare during the same time period.

Those stops include:

  • Ag North
  • Pavilion H
  • Complex Drive at Johnson Center Loop

All campus routes are viewable real-time on TransLoc Rider, UK’s GPS-based bus locating system. TransLoc Rider can be accessed at and via the free Transloc Rider Android and iPhone apps. The Appreciation Day buses will be indicated in purple.

Track Lot and Shively Lot Unavailable May 25 - 26

Two parking areas on south campus will be impacted Thursday, May 25 and Friday, May 26 due to the NCAA Track & Field events at the UK Outdoor Track & Field Complex.

The Track Lot, located immediately adjacent to the track, and the Shively Lot, located between the track and the practice fields, will be unavailable for general parking to accommodate meet operations. 

During the summer months, these lots are both controlled for any valid permit.  For a map of other summer-controlled lots in the area, visit

Members of the campus community are encouraged to tune into 1700 AM (WQKH 253) to hear campus parking and transportation information. The station broadcasts 24 hours, 7 days a week.
