Entrepreneurial Thinking

In the spring of 2012 (March 12 - May 25, 2012) I had the pleasure to participate in a 10-week NSF I-Corps program with a team of researchers led by my good friend and former Dean of our college, Dr. Dan O'Hair. The lean launchpad program was designed by serial enrepreneur Steve Blank and was hosted by Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. Learn more here.I was especially impressed by the utility of Alex Ostewalder's Business Model Canvas to guide our interviews to test assumptions about value propositions, customer segments, customer relationships and cost structures.Watch the two minute video about the Business Model Canvas. Contact me if you want to improve your entrepreneurial thinking.

Consulting

I have expertise in Team Building, Mediation, Integrative Negotiation, Leadership, Communication Skills, Strategic Planning, and Innovative Technologies (e.g., IoT, AI, AR, and VR). I completed the Training and Development Certificate Program developed by the University of Oklahoma Center for Public Management and Educational Development (while completing my doctorate) and earned professional training certifications from the Institute of Cultural Affairs in Basic Group Facilitation Methods and Participatory Strategic Planning. Over the past thirty years, I've consulted with, designed, and delivered multiple corporate, government, and academic training programs. Contact me for more information.

Data Analysis

One of my most enjoyable tasks as a social scientist is quantitative data analysis requiring inferential/parametric statistics. While I'm trained in both quantitative and qualitative data analysis, my strengths are in quantitative survey research and experiments. I've worked with several collaborators who have presented me with a quantitative dataset and asked me to "make sense" of the data. My preference is to work with a research team BEFORE data are collected, but I don't mind analyzing data after they are collected--provided there is an obvious theoretical framework and we can establish clear research questions and/or hypotheses to guide the analyses.

Get in Touch

Please contact me if my focus or expertise in quantitative methodologies, parametric data analysis, or technology (e.g., IoT, AI, AR, VR, etc.) might lead to a meaningful interdisciplinary research collaboration!
