ENG 301: Style (for writers)

Announcements:

10/19/06:  If you spoke with me about missing quizzing grades, that problem is fixed.  Pleae check blackboard to make sure all is o.k.

C.J.:  I suspect your quiz grades are wrong.  See me.

Elizabeth T.:  Sorry to have missed you.  Let’s try to talk another time.

10/18/06:  Collectively, you did FABULOUS on the hourly:  18 A’s, 26 B’s, 19 C’s.  Roughly 85% of you scored in A-B-C range; that’s higher than previous classes!  10 of you earned scores of “D” & 2 scores of “E.”  You’ll be able to replace these scores with your final exam, but make sure you attend class and review these chapters.   You can also drill at the Writing Center.

As for class scores at midterm, they’re higher than the hourly:  a whopping 34 A’s (YEA!), 25 B’s, 9 C’s, 5 D’s, & 2 E’s.  KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

10/14/06:  I’m working on grades now.  I’ve recorded the three highest quiz grades.

9/17/06:  QUIZ TOMORROW.  (Make sure you can recognize dependent clauses, appositives, and verbals.)

9/12/06:  My office hours for tomorrow (Wed. 9/13) have been rescheduled for Thursday, 9/14.

9/3/06:  Quiz answers are posted as requested (go to Course Calendar & look at the Power Point slides)

REMEMBER: NO CLASS ON THURSDAY!

8/24/06:  Welcome to the Class!
