Summer Outreach Dates

The Office of Student Financial Aid & Scholarships was out at different locations through the summer to get your questions answered about financial aid. For more information visit here. 

Financial Aid Help Desk will be held the following dates:

  • Tuesday, September 6, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Starbucks, W.T. Young Library
  • Tuesday, October 4, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at The 90

Freshmen beginning fall 2017-18

     
  • 2017-18 estimated financial aid award notifications will be mailed in February/March and will also be available on the myUK web portal.

Returning and Transfer students for 2017-18

     
  • 2017-18 financial aid award notifications will be available on the myUK web portal in late May.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT for 2017-2018

-The 2017 – 2018 FAFSA application will be available beginning October 1st, 2016 at www.fafsa.gov

-Applicants will use prior-prior year tax information (ex. 2015 tax information for 17/18 FAFSA)

-New FAFSA applicants should apply for their FSA ID in advance at: fsaid.ed.gov

FAFSA Steps

It is important that applicants apply for the FAFSA as soon as it becomes available in October. Some financial aid is awarded based on the initial FAFSA filing date. Using prior-prior year tax information will make the FAFSA process easier for families and students. To make the FAFSA even easier, use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) that is available through the online FAFSA. NOTE: The DRT tool is temporarily unavailable so please use copies of your 2015 tax return to complete the FAFSA.
