Crime and Fire Data

This information is provided to meet the requirements of the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998 and the Kentucky Postsecondary Education Campus Security (Minger) Act of 2000.

Crime and fire data may be reviewed in a variety of ways on this page by researching Crime Log, Fire Log, Crime Bulletins, and Clery/Minger Reports.  The purpose of the daily Crime Log and Fire Log is to record all criminal incidents and alleged criminal incidents reported to the University of Kentucky Police Department and to record all fires occurring specifically in on-campus student housing facilities.  Crime Bulletins list the crime bulletins issued by year.  These bulletins serve to alert the campus community to dangerous criminal situations on campus so appropriate precautions can be taken.  Further, the Clery and Minger reports may be viewed for an annual synopsis of campus safety and security information and statistics.

The University of Kentucky Police Department reports all crimes to the Kentucky State Police and Federal Bureau of Investigation using the National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS).

These statistics include additions to what is required by the Federal Campus Crime and Security (Clery) Act and Kentucky Campus and Crime Security (Minger) Act. Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns by calling (859)257-8573.
