Security Hiring Process
To be considered a viable applicant for the University of Kentucky Security Officer hiring process, submit an application for an open position on the UK jobs website. Search “Security Officer.” If no position is available, check back regularly. Once a position is posted, it is available for at least seven days.
Candidates will complete a phone interview with a senior member of the University of Kentucky Police Department.
Oral Board, University of Kentucky campus
Candidates are invited to an oral board interview with the various University of Kentucky Police Department employees.
Polygraph Examination, University of Kentucky campus
Before completing the Polygraph, candidates will be required to complete two hard copy questionnaires that must be provided to the in-house polygraph examiner. Average duration of a Polygraph Exam is two hours. Polygraph Exams are considered valid for one year from the date of hire.
Contingent Offer and Drug Test, University of Kentucky campus
Candidates are extended a contingent offer based on successfully complete a drug screen. UK’s Pre-Employment Screening office will contact the candidate to schedule the drug test on campus.
Candidates who are extended a full offer start as soon as possible.
