Give & Go Donations

Each year, UK Recycling partners with multiple community groups to donate usable unwanted items students living on campus choose to donate instead of throwing away. UK Recycling places Give & Go Donation Stations in the lobby of every residence hall on campus during the last weeks of each semester.

The following items are accepted:

  • Clothing
  • Shoes
  • Household items—reusable plates, cups, mirrors, plastic drawer organizer, lamps, etc.
  • Bedding—sheets, comforter, pillows, mattress topper
  • Linens and towels
  • Non-perishable, unopened food

Thanks to our participating partners—Big Blue Pantry and Goodwill Industries.

NOTE: Donations were low in 2020 due to a stark decline in residents throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Who Can Participate?

Any student living on campus (undergraduate, graduate, sorority & fraternity) can participate in this program.

Each residence hall receives a large blue bin (pictured below) for the lobby. Sororities and Fraternities will need to call 859-257-6234 to request a collection of donations.
