Caterpillar hosts plants: 
leaves of plants in the mustard family (Brassicaceae)

Adult food:  
nectar of asters, Asters; cabbage and related species, Brassica; dandelion, Taraxacum; mints, Mentha; nasturtiums, Nasturium; red clover, Trifolium

Habitat: 
almost any type of open space including, cities, gardens, roadsides, suburbs, weedy areas 

Notes:  
females lay eggs singly on the underside of leaves, hibernates as chrysalis, males patrol for females
