FMMC 10-13 – SNOW AND ICE REMOVAL PROCEDURES DURING WEEKENDS AND NON-BUSINESS HOURS

Effective: January 02, 2002
Revised: November 19, 2012
Reviewed: December 2013

If snow and ice conditions occur during weekends or during non-business hours, the Monitor in Dispatch will notify the designated supervisor on call.

The supervisor on call will activate the volunteer and call-in lists if the situation warrants additional staffing for snow/ice removal.

The Supervisor on call will set up and staff the Snow Command Center. This same supervisor will make assignments for snow/ice removal according to the volunteer listing located in Dispatch.  Once the volunteer list has been depleted, the call-in list will be activated. The call-in list is a database listing of all PPDMC staff members.  The dispatch monitor must notify the supervisor on call once the call-in list is being activated.  Once a staff member has reported in for snow duty, their name will go to the bottom of the call-in list.

Staff reporting for snow removal will report to PPDMC Dispatch.

The supervisor on call will manage all requests/problems, assuring that equipment and supplies are available to facilitate the process.

The Command Center will maintain its operation until the snow/ice removal efforts are complete.

There will be an evaluation at the earliest opportunity after the clean up to discuss the outcome and to assess the success or areas needing change for improvement.
