Dr. Michael A. Christian has practiced dentistry for 38 years in Ashland, Kentucky. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1976 and earned a doctorate from the UK College of Dentistry in 1980. He is a Henry Stites Barker UK Fellow and a Life Member of both the UK National Alumni Association and the UK College of Dentistry Alumni Association. He received the UK Alumni Association Distinguished Service Award in 2005, and is a member of the Wildcat Society. He also served and led his local Alumni Club in Ashland.

During his tenure on the UK National Alumni Association Board of Directors, Christian was chairman of the Membership, Club Development, Workshop Site/Selection, Great Teacher/Scholarship, Alumni Distinguished Service Awards, and Nominating for Board of Directors Committees. He also served on the Strategic Planning and Finance Committees.  

Christian has also served as a member of the University of Kentucky Advocacy Network and was active in the development of the Nutter Indoor Practice Facility.

Christian has been heavily involved in the Kentucky Dental Association for more than 34 years and is a past President of the Eastern Kentucky Dental Society. He is married to the former Janice Warren ’78 ED ’82 LCC, and they have one daughter.
