Davide Girardelli (Symposium Co-Chair -- Web Design)

Davide Girardelli is a Fulbright Fellow graduate student in the Graduate Program in Communication at the University of Kentucky, Lexington (USA). His main research interests include semiotics, postmodern theory, Italian and European identity and organizational communication. He received a $10,000 grant from the National Italian American Foundation to conduct a research on images and stereotypes of several nationalities and ethnic groups.

Maria Brann (Symposium Co-Chair)

Maria Brann is a Doctoral Candidate and an NIMH Fellow in the Department of Communication and the Department of Behavioral Science at the University of Kentucky. She received her BA and MA in Communication from Purdue University. Her primary research interests focus on the integration of organizational, interpersonal, and health communication, particularly by studying ethical issues in health communication contexts such as patient confidentiality, women's health issues, and gender construction. She is an active member of several professional organizations including the National Communication Association and the Society for Behavioral Medicine. Maria has presented her research at more than fifteen meetings and is actively publishing her work in Health Communication, Communication Studies, Health Care Analysis, MD Computing, and edited books.
