Important Update on Vaccinations

We are moving forward rapidly with our COVID-19 vaccination plan, and I know that is a tremendous relief for so many, while also a source of continued questions during this dynamic situation. I want to provide an update on how we are moving forward and what has occurred to date.

Important Update on Vaccinations and Testing

I want to update you on several significant issues regarding our response to COVID-19 in early 2021 — issues that will require a collective effort by our entire community.

Welcome Back, Required COVID-19 Entry Testing

As in the fall, we will kick off the semester with required COVID-19 entry testing for all students who are enrolled in the spring semester and physically coming to campus at any point during the semester and who have not tested positive in the 90 days leading up to Jan. 14 (on or following Oct. 16), per CDC guidance.

Supporting Employee Wellness Throughout Winter

As we prepare for the upcoming holiday season, one which can often cause heightened anxiety and stress, I hope you direct that same sense of compassion and care toward yourself; after all, our people are our most important asset and the reason we can call ourselves the University for Kentucky.

DATA DL: A Look at UK's Data Team and Its Process

Throughout the semester, the COVID-19 data team has collected, validated, cleaned and reported testing data from several sources, including on-campus testing operations; off-campus providers; the Southeastern Conference and its testing partner; and self-reported results revealed through UK Health Corps’ contact tracing process.

DATA DL: Dashboard Reflects Student Data for Fall

Last wee, the COVID-19 Data Team posted the final dashboard update of the fall semester, with data through the final day of classes, Nov. 24.

Tuition and Fee Cap to be Continued, Part of Putting Students First

During the fall semester, we capped tuition and mandatory fees for all full-time undergraduates – regardless of how many in-person or online classes a student was taking. We plan to continue that cap on tuition and mandatory fees for the spring semester, which begins in late January. 

Data DL: Successful Fall, Looking Ahead to Spring

Last week, we celebrated a successful conclusion of in-person courses for the fall semester. We achieved this success by orienting our approach around a simple, but crucial question: did we care?
