EcoReps Program

faded background of the University of Kentucky's campus, on top is a green paw that says EcoReps, also in the paw is the logo for UK Recycling

The EcoRep program was established in 2017 as a part of UK Recycling's goals to increase recycling and waste diversion efforts on campus. EcoReps serve as waste reduction ambassadors in their residence hall as they provide outreach, participate in events, and help further the University’s sustainability goals. Each EcoRep receives a $150 stipend per semester, contingent upon completing all program requirements.

Who are the EcoReps?

EcoReps are student leaders who, no matter their career and academic goals, have a passion for waste reduction. EcoReps are expected to organize two events in the spring semester for the students in their residence hall to learn about waste management issues, as well as how to live more sustainably as a college student.

If you have questions about sustainability in general, how to get involved on campus, or even just wondering what can and can’t be recycled at UK, EcoReps are the people you can go to for help.
