Rose Street is a pop-up park that reshapes a portion of Rose Street using a series of colorful arcs spanning from Funkhouser Drive to Huguelet Drive to create a new and active pedestrian corridor filled with games, seating, and open spaces. The alternating arcs along the Rose Street corridor create a winding path that allows pedestrian and cyclist use while also maintaining emergency service access to the core of campus.  There are opportunities to throw a frisbee, kick a soccer ball, practice yoga, skateboard, play checkers, sit and people watch, relax until the next class, study, eat at the café tables, meet up with friends, meet new people in a game of four square, have a small outdoor class, hold events or student organization meetings, and the list goes on. Through this project, UK sees opportunity to create a playful, social space that helps to re-energize individuals on campus as they move through their busy day.
